Industry champions win awards
Two well-deserving industry champions were recognised at the inaugural Cannabis Industry Awards Dinner last week.
The results, which were decided by public vote, were as follows:
Contribution to Science
- Winner: Dr Callie Seaman (Aqualabs)
- Runner-up: Dr Mikael Sodergren and Simon Erridge (Curaleaf / Imperial College)
- Third place: Dr Simon Tordoff (CB1 Medical)
Contribution to Social Impact
- Winner: Heidi Whitman (EmpowHer Cannabis Society)
- Runner-up: Matt Hughes (Medcan Family Foundation)
- Third place: Tom Whettem (British Cannabis)
The awards were presented on behalf of award sponsors Gowling WLG and Hilltop Leaf, respectively.
The Awards Dinner, presented by SOMAÍ Pharmaceuticals, was held on 7 November at the HAC in London.
The event, run by the CIC, MCCS, and Drug Science, was attended by 140 industry leaders, doctors, and patient representatives.
