CIC Working Groups
The Cannabis Industry Council’s working groups drive forward key priorities. Open to all members, the working groups highlight key areas for change across the industry.

Environment, Social & Governance
Chaired by Sam Cannon and Hamish Clegg, the group seeks to define standards for business, patient engagement & environmental impact.
Hemp
Chaired by Tony Reeves, the group works to drive forward progress, standardisation and growth across the hemp industry, and to support wider Council objectives.
Prescription Cannabis
Chaired by Sonal Patel and Dr Sunil Arora, the group works to establish medical cannabis as an accessible and respected treatment option for UK patients.
CBD (wellness)
Chaired by Damien Bove, the group aims to drive forward progress and growth in the consumer CBD space. This includes all B2C products, such as oils, drinks, and cosmetics.
Research & Science
Chaired by Dr Shanna Marrinan, the group commissions and explores research including economic analyses and condition-specific case studies.
International
Chaired by Ricardo Geada, the group will review a range of international experiences, and assess the existing global market, and carry out reviews.
Standards
Chaired by Frances Crewdson, the group set and define the standards for the industry with regards prescription cannabis medicines.
Rare Diseases
The group aims to raise awareness of the use of cannabinoids for rare diseases, boost funding, and enable clinical trials.
