THC levels in Industrial Hemp
The Government has responded to the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) in respect to THC levels within industrial hemp.
The Government say they have accepted ACMD proposals to increase THC levels from 0.2% to 0.3%, noting that “the change is expected to yield economic advantages by providing access to more hemp varieties. The potential environmental benefits include contributions to the Government’s emissions targets due to hemp’s high rate of carbon sequestration in comparison to most other crops.”
The changes require legislation, which the Government notes is “subject to Parliamentary procedures”.
